You will all appreciate how difficult the last few years have been for the Third Sector and Young Lancashire has not been immune to the financial challenges and has had to make some difficult decisions which have resulted in staff redundancies and premises closure.
Young Lancashire ceased operations on 30th June 2018.

With their remaining financial assets Young Lancashire has embarked on an exciting new project with the Lancashire Wildlife Trust. The Young Lancashire Woodland Oases project aims to provide safe, accessible and exciting woodland spaces to be used by the young people of Lancashire. Alongside the woodland area will run weekly volunteer groups at each woodland to allow young people access to activities, skills and training. Finally, they intend to train youth leaders and local teachers in forest schools and the Deeper Nature Connections programme. The overall aim will be working in partnership with land owners to provide safe community spaces, training and the skills to keep these Oases going beyond the 3 years creating a legacy.

The aim is to initially develop three woodland oases in Lancashire commencing with the Penwortham woodland project, followed by both north Lancashire and east Lancashire projects.

Work has already commenced and Young Lancashire cordially invite you to officially launch the project and celebrate Young Lancashire’s achievements over the past 90 years at a special event which is to be held 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Tuesday 25thSeptember 2018 at Brockholes Nature Reserve Just off Junction 31 of the M6, Preston, Lancashire PR5 OAG.

In order to cater for everyone we would ask you to rsvp by Friday 7th September     to Jessica Baldwin at [email protected]
