Healthier Lancashire & South Cumbria Integrated Care System are running a number of Focus Groups for those who have been Bereaved by Suicide to attend, to be part of a co-produced Bereavement Support Pathway for Lancashire & South Cumbria.  Research shows that those bereaved by suicide who have access to bereavement support services are at lesser risk of suicide and have a lower risk for depression.

The Focus Groups are for anybody who has been bereaved by suicide (family, friend, colleague, student, teacher – anybody) to come along and participate in a review of the bereavement services currently available across the Lancashire & South Cumbria footprint while adding what services ‘were, weren’t and would have’ been useful.  This will help to build on the current pathway, highlighting what a specialist Bereavement Service would look like and how it could be achieved through recommendations to the Suicide Prevention Board.

They will be held in;-

  • Cumbria
  • Preston
  • Blackburn/Burnley
  • Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre
