Job Title:Invest in Youth – Key Worker
Post: There are two posts: 1 x 37 hrs per week and 1 x 20 hrs per week
Starting salary: £20,779 per annum pro rata
Term: 12-month post starting in January 2019 to end Dec 2019
URPotential CIC is one of the thematic partners for the Invest in Youth project funded by the European Social Fund and the National Lottery, through the Big Lottery Fund. This is a 12-month Uplift Project, led by Selnet, in collaboration with a number of community partners, to engage with and support people aged 16-24 years of age who are unemployed or economically inactive with multiple social, emotional and economic barriers.
URPotential provides research and consultancy, accredited training and volunteering opportunities to young people, adults, families and the community and targeted youthwork. We work with young people, families, communities and organisations developing capacity across the North West through training and accreditation. We are an accredited centre for a number of awarding bodies including: AQA, Open Awards, ABC as well as Mentoring and Befriending Foundation.
We are looking to recruit two highly motivated specialist youth support workers experienced in supporting unemployed and at times vulnerable young people and meeting targets, with sound assessment skills to deliver this work. The key workers will carry a caseload working across Wyre. Providing specialist support to each participant, working in very close partnership with theme leads and keyworker partner. The post holders will be responsible for end to end support, completing diagnostic assessments and action plans with the young people: to improve wellbeing, accessing employment opportunities and offering volunteer brokerage for participants to consider options to improve their employment prospects.
Pension: new employees will be enrolled onto URPotential’s company pension scheme
Travel: Travelling expenses will be paid for all journeys required for work, excluding travel from home to base. The current rates are 45p per mile for the first 10,000 miles per year and 25p per mile thereafter.
The nature of the post will require travel across the area. A full driving licence, appropriate insurance cover and use of a car is essential.
