The Magic Club CIO, is an expanding youth facility approaching its first birthday. We provide a space to inspire the futures for young people in Claremont, Blackpool.
The Trustees are recruiting for a Chief Executive Officer to move the organisation forward and build on the work undertaken to date.
As our Chief Executive your day might include:
- Supporting a volunteer to deliver a presentation to a new potential partner.
- Writing a funding bid to deliver holiday activity.
- Playing board or computer games with young people.
- Checking outcomes from our service providers against our agreements.
- Giving a local business a tour of our facility.
- Creating a performance report for the board.
- Dealing with an emerging safeguarding issue.
- Ensuring that contractors are delivering to an appropriate quality.
- Reviewing financial performance and ensuring grant requirements are being met.
- Attending a board meeting, giving key performance information to Trustees and taking questions on this.
The organisation has had an Interim Chief Executive to date, following the confirmation of Lottery Funding for three years we are now able to recruit a fixed term full time, 37 hours per week, postholder, post until end of August 2021. Purpose Of Job
The Magic Club is a CIO.
To ensure delivery of a youth club provision from the Magic Club premises at a frequency agreed with the Trustees.
To increase and maintain take up of the Magic Club youth provision.
To raise the profile of the Magic Club facility in the Claremont area.
To work with the Trustees on raising funds to ensure the ongoing future operation of the club, including writing bids or assisting in writing of bids.
To ensure that the Magic Club operates in a safe manner, including the operation of appropriate safeguarding practice.
To ensure that requirements of all grant funding bodies are met.
To ensure young people in Claremont are exposed to appropriate role models and experiences to build their aspiration.
Work with key local stakeholders to support service users as appropriate.
To help reduce youth anti-social behaviour in the Claremont area.
To undertake day to day financial management and budgeting activity for the club.
Ensuring usage of the club is in line with the expectations of the board of trustees.
Promoting wider use of the Magic Club building by the broader Claremont and Blackpool community.
To manage any subcontractors to ensure that they deliver on agreed arrangement to budget and at the required quality standards.
To provide sufficient performance management information to the Board to ensure they can effectively review the ongoing quality of service delivery.
Terms and Conditions
The salary for the post will be up to £30,000 depending on skills and experience, 37 hours per week..
The annual leave entitlement is statutory entitlement.
A basic pension scheme is provided with the post. More details will be available at interview
The successful candidate will be based at the Magic Club premises on Rear No 1 Sherbourne Road, Blackpool. When work being undertaken does not require the person to be on site home working will be acceptable.
A laptop and mobile phone will be provided. These will need to be managed appropriately by the postholder to comply with data protection requirements at all times
