Post: Volunteer Recruitment, Training and Development Officer

Citizens Advice Blackpool is currently seeking a Volunteer Recruitment, Training and Development Officer to recruit, train and support volunteers across all aspects of our advice service including young people 16-18 as part of Young Citizens Advice.

The Volunteer Recruitment, Training and Development Officer will mainly recruit young people 16-18 to develop the Young Citizens Advice Service as well as support volunteer development across all our services.

The Volunteer Recruitment, Training and Development Officer will have a proven ability to work with young people aged 16-18, to motivate them and provide the right learning environment, to manage volunteering issues and a commitment to the value of volunteering, a knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and the protection of young people and vulnerable adults and willingness to undertake further safeguarding training to support volunteers and maintain motivation, to deliver training modules, combined with understanding of learning techniques/theories.

An enhanced DBS check with a children’s barred list check will be required for this post.

Post: Help to Claim Worker (2 posts)

Hours: 37 hours per week, part time hours would be considered

Location: Whitegate Drive, Blackpool with travel to outreach locations across the Fylde Coast.

Citizens Advice Blackpool is an advice charity which is in its 80thyear of delivering high quality advice to its beneficiaries. Citizens Advice Blackpool is currently seeking two Help to Claim workers to provide an effective and efficient support service for first time Universal Credit claimants.

The Help to Claim Workers will provide advice, information and digital support via face to face, telephone and webchat aimed at helping Universal Credit claimants through to their first payment and any additional support that may be required. Knowledge and experience of providing welfare benefits advice is desirable as is proficiency in IT, experience of providing digital support, an understanding of the issues involved in interviewing and supporting clients and an ability to travel throughout the area.

Hours: 30 hours per week

The Administrative Support Officer will provide administrative support to managers and caseworkers with an emphasis on the smooth running of the Help to Claim service for Universal Support clients. The Administrative Support Officer will have an ability to provide administrative support and to maintain office systems, to use IT packages, including word processing / spreadsheet / database packages, to use email and to maintain an electronic diary, to write clearly and accurately, including drafting routine correspondence, and taking notes of meetings, numeracy skills and to work within established financial systems.

Post: Debt Caseworker/Trainee Debt Caseworker

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Whitegate Drive, Blackpool

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £19,465 – £24,565

Citizens Advice Blackpool is looking to recruit an experienced Debt Advice Caseworker, or someone who has transferable skills and wants to train to become an accredited Debt Advice Caseworker.

If you are applying as an experienced caseworker, then ideally you will be an Approved Intermediary for Debt Relief Order applications, or you will be expected to undertake training to obtain intermediary status. If you are applying as a trainee, you will be expected to undertake training to reach caseworker level within an agreed period of time, and subsequently, you would be expected to work towards intermediary status.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a flexible approach to working and the ability to prioritise workto satisfy funder targets.
