Healthier Fleetwood  would like to take the opportunity to remind you of 2 free community events taking place this Wednesday, 5th June. Stay for the whole of the event or just call in for as long as you can.

It’s Okay To Talk About Cancer – Marine Hall, 1pm to 5pm

This will take a positive look at the living with and planning for what can be a devastating disease. Hosted by the NHS, MacMillan Cancer Support and other partners working in and around Fleetwood the afternoon will include a line-up of presentations, demonstrations and advice covering subjects such as healthy eating, sun safety, the importance of being active, practical support, advance care and much more. Residents will share their stories too … listening to others who have experienced what you or a loved one are going through can provide great comfort for your own journey. It’s a free event, no need to book. Just turn up from 12.45pm to sign-in then browse the stalls and take part in the discussions. Refreshments will be available.

The Lancashire Adult Learning Showcase – Emmanuel at the Mount, Mount Road, 4pm to 8.30pm

An event to provide information of the many courses and opportunities Lancashire Adult Learning can offer residents including English and Maths, First Aid, IT, microwave cookery, chair-based exercise, mindfulness and much more. This is an opportunity to speak to the course leaders, have a go at taster sessions, make suggestions for future courses and sign up! All free and no need to book. Refreshments are available to help keep the chat going and accompanied children welcome. From 6.30pm we will also hold the monthly Healthier Fleetwood Open Meeting connecting residents and helping to make things happen before a final chance to catch up with the team from Lancashire Adult Learning.
