Welcome to the 209th edition of your Health Matters newsletter

This issue once again contains a number of stories highlighting just some of the great work that goes on in the Trust.

We were delighted to see staff member Liam Duffy presented with a special Cavell Star award for his contribution to nursing and hear of how nine-month old Lottie-Beau and her elder sister Lola-Violet helped raise money for Trust charity Blue Skies Hospitals Fund.

We also report on how more than 100 patients have now benefited from a pioneering operation undertaken by experts at the Lancashire Cardiac Centre. The centre is the only one in the north of England to offer a minimally invasive operation to replace an aortic valve called anterior right thoracotomy (ART) and recently passed the landmark.
