How will it work?
We are asking our staff, volunteers and supporters to help us travel at incredible virtual 3226km from South Lancashire to Lapland all in the name of achieving mental wellbeing for all! The challenge starts on 1st December and you can choose to run, walk, cycle the usual Mental Elf 5k or challenge yourself to complete a number of kms over the course of the challenge. The distance, the way you complete it, when you complete it and where, is up to you! You can complete the event as an individual, a family, as a group or club or with friends or colleagues.Every km you cover will be added to the distance we have travelled as a group helping us to reach our destination of Lapland!

What do our participants get when they sign up?

Once you sign up you will receive a welcome pack in the post which includes:

➡ a mental elf wristband

➡ running card

➡ an elf for Elfie Selfies

➡ fundraising and sponsorship guide

➡ a Festive five ways to wellbeing poster

Exclusive access to our Lancashire Mind to Lapland closed Facebook group. Our closed Facebook group will be the heart of the Mental Elf 2020: Lancashire Mind to Lapland community.

Why sign up?
Christmas can be a difficult time for many. The Mental Elf 2020: Lancashire to Lapland challenge is all about bringing people across Lancashire together. We want to give people something fun and positive to focus on after a year of challenge, change and uncertainty. This challenge is centred around wellbeing and we want everyone taking part to come away with an improved wellbeing through exercise, getting outside, connecting with others, learning something new, giving back and having lots of fun!
Due to significant loss in fundraising income since April 2020 we need your support more now than ever. We are really excited about our virtual alternative and we have worked hard to ensure that all our participants have the best possible experience whilst supporting us.
For more details about Mental Elf 2020 please visit our webpage
In addition to taking part in the challenge we are also looking for stall holders for our market place and businesses sponsorship and support. More details can be found on our Mental Elf webpage.
Please do share this information about Mental Elf with anyone you think may be interested. I have also attached packs for Gyms/Active groups, businesses and schools if you know of any who may be interested in taking part. There are some great options for all groups.
Please could I also ask you to share details of the event on your social media pages- we are regularly sharing content around Mental Elf which could be reshared or sharing the link to the website. These things will really help us to spread the word as far as we can.
Please do feel free to contact Emma Bateson [email protected] if you need any further information about the challenge.
