Businesses in Wyre forced to close due to government restrictions can now apply for the Local Restrictions Support Grant.
There are currently two schemes for affected businesses. One for those forced to close when Lancashire moved into tier 3 on 19 October, or 17 October for licensed clubs bars (the LRSG closed scheme) and one for those required to close during lockdown (the LRSG closed addendum scheme).
The criteria and grant amounts vary based on the level of restrictions and their duration, as well as the size of the business applying.
Councillor Alan Vincent, Resources Portfolio Holder at Wyre Council comments, “These are frustrating and worrying times for businesses across our borough and we have worked extremely hard to launch these Local Restrictions Support Grant schemes for those who have been forced to close in this second wave of the pandemic.
“We are also currently putting together two discretionary grant schemes aimed at businesses severely impacted by the pandemic but not required to close. Please bear with us whilst we work through guidance from the government and rest assured that we aim to get these schemes up and running as soon as possible.”
