IMO are delighted to announce that as part of our Diabetes and Ramadan awareness series, leading expert Dr R Thakur is hosting a live Question & Answer session for residents of East Lancashire, Blackburn with Darwen and surrounding areas.

Diabetes is a growing health problem for people from South Asian backgrounds. The likelihood of developing Type 2 diabetes is reported to be as much as 6 times higher in South Asians when compared to the wider population.

This makes it important for us to know the facts about Diabetes and to remove the myths that surround its treatment.

Dr Thakurs knowledge, innovation and commitment has been an important driving force for change and improvement in Diabetes education and quality of care across the Lancashire.

Dr Thakur has provided support to the BAME community for many years on Diabetes and its impact during and post Ramadan.

Please join IMO and Dr Thakur for a fact finding and myth busting session via the  2 zoom sessions on Saturday 8th of May 2021:

  • 1.00pm for Ladies
  • 2.30pm for Gents
