URPotential has been successful in securing 2 years funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to deliver an Intergenerational Volunteering project across Fylde, Wyre and Blackpool for young people and adults. The project will support young people and adults into volunteering placements. We will work with communities to deliver social action projects, skill sharing sessions, and training. The benefits of volunteering can include; gaining skills or accreditation, meeting new friends, improving mental health and well- being and self-confidence. If you are an individual or group who would like to be involved in volunteering or social action projects. URPotential are delighted to announce that they have received approval to extend delivery of their 3 Building Better Opportunity Projects until at least June 2022.

Building Better Opportunities (BBO) is a national programme from The National Lottery Community Fund who are matching funds from the European Social Fund (ESF) 2014-2020 to invest in local projects tackling the root causes of poverty, promoting social inclusion and driving local jobs and growth. ‘Age of Opportunity’, supports the over-50s, and ‘Invest in Youth’, supports young people aged 15-24. The third project, ‘Changing Futures’, began in February 2017 and supports people with multiple and complex barriers to employment.

URPotential are excited to have secured further funding from Esmee Fairbairn to continue the amazing work work for youth participation. URPotentials youth participation project supports and empowers young people in Blackpool to have their voice heard, using creative methods to enable positive change both locally and regionally. The participation project will incorporate Blackpool Youth Council, Blackpool Youth Network, Blackpool Youth Climate group to enable young people to address personal and social issues that affect them.

URPotential LGBT+ SUPPORT TEAM are proud to report the extended funding from both Children in Need and Fylde Coast CCG’s. This enables us to continue delivering much needed provision to our Young LGBT+ people within the community of Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde.

We can continue to offer young people 1-1 support, weekly group sessions, and other opportunities to participate in current events and projects for young people up to the age of 25.

We also provide LGBT+ Family support with a group that meets fortnightly, and support for professionals who work with young people who identify as LGBT+.

URPotential are very excited to begin delivering The Rainbow Flag Award, a training package to help schools and colleges promote LGBT+ inclusion within these learning environments and community with confidence.
