The people we support in this area live in both supported living and their own homes. The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to follow support plans and protocols very closely to reinforce the boundaries set by professionals for the people we support. We are looking to employ someone who is experienced, fit and who enjoys walking as the people we support love being out and about in the community visiting car boots and charity shops. They enjoy living life to the full with fun-filled days doing activities such as shopping, swimming, gardening, arts and craft, picnics and walks on the beach.

The ideal candidate will be flexible and willing to do sleeps and work over the weekends. You will have responsibility for providing support with all aspects of day-to-day living, enabling the people we support to make their own decisions and enjoy the best possible quality of life. You’ll be encouraging and helping them to participate in the local community, pursuing all possible opportunities to take part in local groups.

Key responsibilities:
 Ensuring a quality service is maintained to reflect the expectations of our Organisation, the people we support and their friends and families.
 Ensuring that the people we support have a safe, appropriate and comfortable living environment.
 Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including families and social services.
 Ensuring support plans and other relevant information are followed, including Health and Safety requirements.
 Working flexibly within the service, including night and week-end duties.
 Preserving the dignity of the people we support at all times.
