Dementia Friends is an Alzheimer’s Society initiative – it’s about understanding a bit more about dementia and the small things you can do to help people with the condition.

Dementia Friends learn a little bit about what it’s like to live with dementia and turns that understanding into action. This could be helping someone find the right bus or being patient in a till queue if someone with dementia is taking longer to pay. Every action counts. Being a Dementia Friend isn’t about volunteering or fundraising.

The Rossall Beach Group have the opportunity to host a Dementia Friends session, run by Dementia Friends Champions, who are volunteers who have taken the Dementia Friends Champions’ training. It will last around one hour and you’ll learn more about dementia and how you can help to make where we live a dementia friendly community.

The Rossall Beach Group doesn’t just look after the beach – we also look after our members, neighbours and people who we meet, to make Cleveleys and where we live a strong community.

You can find out more about it here http://alzheimers.dementiafriends.org.uk/

Please respond:

  1. Would you like to come along to a session like this to be held in Cleveleys?

  1. Would you prefer to do it at an ordinary monthly meeting, Wednesdays at 6:00pm?

  1. Or would you prefer to do it in a separate afternoon session, bring a friend or neighbour, have a cup of tea, and maybe find out some more about Alzheimer’s and research into treatment of the disease?

  1. And if you’d prefer to do this session in an afternoon, what day would be best for you?
